Strongest Woman I Know...

Lynda Gray*
This is my Aunt Lynda (She's actually my Mom's aunt, but Ive grown up calling her Aunt Lynda). She has battled with cancer since the year 2005. It started as ovarian, now it has spread to pretty much every part of her body. There have been several times during these past 5 years where the doctors have given her a time limit on how much longer she will live. But with her amazing FAITH in the Lord, she keeps fighting, and keeps showing the doctors how strong and powerful her TRUE HEALER is! She has spoken at several events. She was asked to light the Christmas Tree at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital this past Christmas. And she was the guest speaker at this years Relay For Life in Albany, Ga. She has written out a little poem called, "What Cancer Cant Do". Two weeks ago the doctors told her she had between 1-3 months to live. I went by to see her right after that, thinking she was going to be emotional, but she wasnt at all! She talked of what she thinks Heaven is going to be like, and how we are going to still feel her around at some times, she talked of seeing her first husband in Heaven (He died of cancer when I was just a few months old), she talked out how she just bought a guitar because she has always wanted to learn to play, she just had her whole house redone, she said I am not ready to go, and Im not ready to stop fighting, but Ive accepted that is what the Lord wants.
I regret not being as close to her as I could have been. But it is so amazing to me, how just seeing her at holiday, she still amazes me by always looking her best, smelling her best, talking about how her strength comes from the Lord, and how the Lord will not give her anything she can not handle. I am not giving up on her just yet. You hear stories all the time of how people have cancer all over their bodies, then go to the doctor and EVERY single bit of it is gone. I serve a God who works miracles, and Im still praying for my Aunt Lynda's miracle to happen.
They say the Lord speaks to you in many different ways, His way of speaking to me is through my Aunt Lynda.
Me and Aunt Lynda on Mothers Day. This is one of her grandsons Spencer at the Relay for Life.
One of the students at the school she teaches at supporting her.
This is Me, Aunt Lynda, and my great grandma "Nanny". Nannys son was my Uncle David (Aunt Lyndas first husband) who died from cancer when I was jsut a few months old.

Aunt Lynda-
Thank you for being such a HUGE inspiration to me! You may not know it, but I really have admired your courage and strength in the Lord during these tough past few years for you. I know that the Lord has a plan for you, whether it be here on earth with your family, and for you to continue being an inspiration to myself and many more- or his plan may be for you to go home to your creator! I know all of us are selfish and want you to stay here with us, but either way, it will be a blessing for you! I am going to continue to be selfish and pray for your miracle to happen! I thank the Lord for letting me have you as my Aunt Lynda! I know all of Albany is praying for you!! I love you so much!
