Mass shooting at 'Dark Knight' screening in Colorado.

*Ive been looking up footage on youtube of what happened last night. This interview tugged at my heart. I lost it when he talked about the little girl. *

When I wake up in the mornings, first thing I do is check my phone to see what time it is. Then I check my email, twitter, instagram, etc. I was shocked this morning when I woke up to see twitter flooded with tweets about a shooting in Colorado. I kept on reading different tweets and here are some that broke my heart....

Eyewitness tells that gunman was dressed in SWAT-like outfit, methodically shot people as they tried to exit room
University Hospital confirms the youngest patient admitted from is 3 months old.
Youngest child taken to hospital as a result of shooting at the theater is a 6-year-old
Update: At least 14 dead, 50 injured in mass shooting during screening of Dark Knight Rises in Colorado -

My heart not only goes out to the parents, children, friends, grandparents, schools, businesses, those who were in the theatre that will never be able to forget the details of what they saw, smelled, or heard... but my heart also goes out to all the doctors, nurses, EMT's, child life specialists, and other medical professionals that were involved. It is always tough dealing with just one trauma or a bereavement in a single night... I cant even fathom what they went through early this morning. Times like these really make me miss my internship. I loved working in the ER and helping children and family members through extremely tough and challenging times. So many people were affected by this one man's actions this morning.

People need Jesus more than ever right now. It is so sad to see what this world is becoming. Please come back soon, Jesus.

Mamas Birthday Party

Yesterday, the family went to Blackbeards for Mamas birthday dinner!!
 The parents.
Andrew. Poppy. Mimi.
 Me. Anthony.
After we ate at Blackbeards, we headed back to Mimis house to a SURPRISE party!! I called some of Mama's closest friends this week and told them to be at Mimi's house to surprise Mama.
Mama thought we were going back to Mimi's house just to have dessert.
She doesnt like surprises, and complained about what she looked like, and that she would have dressed better if she knew she was going to see her friends... BUT I think she really did enjoy it!

 My beautiful cousin, Kendyll.
 3 generations..
I think everyone knows that Mama is obsessed with bubble baths!
Mama started this ritual a long time ago. Whenever it is someones birthday, we always write Happy Birthday with lipstick on a mirror! I woke up early to surprise her with it!!

Hope you had a good birthday Mama, I love you!!!

Happy Birthday Mama!!!!

Yesterday was a very special persons birthday... My Mama!!!
Words cannot describe how much this woman means to me! Shes not only my mama, but she is my best friend, role model, biggest fan, cheerleader, supporter, inspiration, selfless, giving, thoughtful, forgiving,  patient, understanding, hilarious, most hard working person I know.
We fuss. We fight. We cry. We laugh. We laugh until we cry. We tell secrets. We agree. We disagree. We agree to disagree. We talk about the past. We talk about the future. We pray together. We shop together. We are lazy and watch movies together. We lay out togeher (she is my favorite person to lay out with).
I do not know where I would be without my Mama. I dont remember her pregnancy with my brother, but I do know that I almost lost her due to complications during my brothers birth. I am so glad that I do no remember that. I always think about what could have happened during that scary time, and it kills me to even think about that. I wouldnt be who I am today without my Mama.

The Lord sure has blessed me...

Past Week.

This was a pretty lazy week, but earlier in the week, Mama, Mimi, and I all went to the movies to see "People Like Us". It was a really good movie.. and we were the ONLY ones in the theatre! I think that was the best part! I love spending time with those two ladies.
Daddy was on the Ruthie show this week to talk about his artwork. Im not going to lie.. it was really neat to watch him on there. I have always thought that he was beyond talented, but it still blows when I think of him being known all over the country for his artwork.
On Tuesday, I met up with Anthony, Ashley, and Abbey to play tennis at Darton.
Abbey and I officially have the "Worst Tennis Players Ever" title.
 Princess Chanel.
 I am BLONDER!
We had family game night this week. I hope this is something that we continue to do. I cant think of the last time our family sat around an played a game (other than thanksgiving and christmas). I feel like we are all so busy with our lives that we dont think about doing this. But I am so glad my parents came up with this idea this week!!!

Beach with the Besties

Last weekend, Anthony, Abbey, Ashley, and me decided to go to the beach! Abbey and Anthony sat in the back seat together.. surprisingly enough, we didnt have to separate them!! :)
Since Ashley showed up to my house an hour late, (because she overslept) her punishment was to drive! Not really..
Anthony listening to his own music... He didnt want to hear "Call Me Maybe" one more time on the radio!
Anthony's dad and Ms. April took us out on the boat when we got there.

The highlight of my weekend was spotting dolphins!!!
We waited until they were right up by the boat to jump in.. So yes, we are telling people we swam with dolphins.

 Anthony and Ashley tubing.
I think this is me and Ms. April.

 love these two.
Later that night we went out for desserts to celebrate Ms. Aprils birthday.

Mr. Chris and the birthday girl.

 my two best friends.
He had salt in his eye.
Anthonys spot in the shade, while us girls tanned!

Fishin' with the cousins.

Today, I took my cousins Caleb and Micah fishing! Caleb just moved back to Albany from Germany, so it is nice to be able to spend time with him again!!
We didn't have any bait, so I stopped at the gas station and bought some gummy worms. They laughed at me, but they worked!! Who wouldnt like gummy worms?!?
Caleb and I.

Prayers for Mimi...

A few weeks ago, the doctors found a spot on Mimi's nose that turned out to be cancer. Yesterday, a doctor from Atlanta came down to remove the spot. After 6 or 7 tries, they finally got it all out of her. If it were me in the situation, I would be freaking out, crying, shaking, and not wanting anyone around. BUT Mimi was a trooper. She was smiling, laughing, and didnt seem to have a single worry! That is why she is one of my role models. I am so glad they got it all out of her. Now, I am just asking everyone to pray for a speedy, pain-free recovery!!!
